If there's one thing that we at Devon Cycling Holidays enjoy almost as much as cycling... it's FOOD!   We are going to share the best places to take a well earned rest bite whilst out on your bike.  The small team at DCH recognise that this list is by no means exhaustive, we would invite visitors and customers of Devon's cycle stop's to nominate their favourite places too.  We know these restaurants, pubs & cafes well because they are located on some of the classic cycling routes that we support with a full range of suppor...

Let's make 2018 the year of the Bike and why not share the fun of cycling with others?

The Bike Bus Group Rides are new for 2018!  Tavi Woodlands or Chip Shop as it's know to

the locals was a blast over the Xmas Holidays.

Tavi-Woods, Woodlands, DGC, Chipshop whatever you call it, this is the spiritual home of Downhill Mountain Biking in the Tamar Valley. The numerous tracks that lace the hillside are all hand crafted by local riders and track builders. Riding Tavi Woodlands is a very special feeling, like you have been give...

Before Exeplore...

Hi, my name is Chris, I'm the managing director at Devon Cycling Holidays and the Bike Bus.

Inspired by the dramatic scenes of Dartmoor and my training in the great outdoors I started an outdoors company.  My time as a multi activity coach took me around the UK and further again when trekking in the Indian Himalayas. My roots are in Exeter, so I returned to start a business here in 2012. I knew that I wanted to work in the outdoors and I have a passion for cycling which started at a very young age....

The Bike Bus and Ride on - cycling for all Dartmoor Discovery weekend on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th March was a lot of fun.  The trip gave volunteers for Ride on and friends of The Bike Bus to get out on their bikes for the weekend, catch up and prove their skills on the beautifully undulating terrain of Dartmoor.  We set off from the Ride on workshop at 8am, all aboard The Bike Bus with riders + bikes bound for the YHA Okehampton.

The ride led us from Okehampton towards Lydford, where the Castle Inn called the n...

In 2017 KOM Coaching will be working with Devon Cycling Holidays to provide 1, 2 or 3 day  ‘King of the Moors’ Challenge events. The events will be ideal for those wanting more of a challenge as riders will take on some on the mightiest climbs on Dartmoor - as seen in the Tour of Britain, in Britain’s ‘100 Greatest Climbs’ and on the ‘Official 100 Climbs’ list on Strava. The optional third day will venture onto Exmoor too for more of the same!

The idea is to offer tailored riding days and training camps for riders...

Why visit Devon for a Cycling Holiday?

- Stunning Moorland Bridleways  - we recommend a guide that knows the way, Dartmoor's a big place, riding legally on recognised routes with a professional is highly recommended.

-  Mile upon mile of quiet road ways & designated cycle paths - The Tarka, Granite Way, Drakes Trail & Exe Estuary Trail to name a few.  All these routes are very well signposted and accessible for all.

- The road bikers heaven - Dartmoor - A King of the Moors training weekend will enable...

A helping hand is often just what you will need to get over that little hurdle, a mental block from a "not so good" experience or perhaps you just have n't managed to get around to learning the best practice for cycling.  These days the roads are busier than ever, and we hear of accidents that could have been avoided.  So, did you know that the Department for Transport fund and operate a scheme that aims to provide a National Standard for cycling on the roads?

Children & adults alike can benefit from a coaching session...
